ISSMO Broadening Participation and Networking Event

13:30-15:00 May 19 (Mon) @ Room A

The ISSMO Broadening Participation and Networking Event will be held during the WCSMO-16, on Tuesday, May 20, 1:30-3:00 pm in Room B on the third floor, Kobe Convention Center. We aim to create a space for WCSMO attendees to convene, network, and learn about issues related to broadening participation of early-career researchers, underrepresented groups (e.g., regions with low representation), and researchers from other fields in the activities of ISSMO. The event is open to all participants of WCSMO. Our discussion will be focused on the challenges and means to broadening participation in the ISSMO community. Senior researchers in the community will serve as mentors in the event. By gathering both young and senior researchers in the field, we also aim to foster the creation of mentorship relations through this event. Special Lunch will be provided on 3F for the event. Email zhangxs@Illinois.edu (Shelly Zhang) for any questions.
